Born Kicking — Rebecca Egerstrom

She Kicks, issue SK10, September 2012 pp.38–39

The second young player profiled is Rebecca Egerstrom, a 14-year-old goalkeeper with Vale Girls Football Team who supports FC Barcelona and answers to Bec, Begastrom or simply Keeps. She chose goalkeeping because it lets her shout at everyone and roll around on the floor, and describes herself as fearless, determined, loud and a positive thinker. She would most like to meet Lionel Messi and to play alongside Diego Maradona, or failing that David Villa, and would pick a neon orange shirt. Her funniest memory is taking a long run-up in pouring rain, missing the ball entirely and going face first into the grass. She claims Olly Murs as a celebrity fan after telling him she played football, and names Messi and Spiderman as heroes.
