Born Kicking: Ramona Legg
Her Goal, issue 7, June 2026 pp.64–65
The season’s final Born Kicking youth Q&A introduces a 12-year-old goalkeeper from Eastleigh who plays for Inspire Girls Football Academy in Surrey, in the U12 JPL Premier Red, and for the JPL Allstars representative side. A Chelsea and England supporter, Legg has kept goal since she was eight and names Hannah Hampton and Mary Earps as her heroes, hoping one day to play where Hampton does. She describes herself as fast, agile, brave, funny and kind, admits to checking her kit bag ten times before every match, and remembers saving a close-range shot with her face. She was voted her new team’s Coach’s Player of the Season.
