Born Kicking: Raffaella Camelia

She Kicks, issue 90, July 2025 pp.96–97

The magazine’s recurring Born Kicking slot hands its Little Kicks Q&A to 12-year-old Raffaella Camelia. She has played both wings and likes trying different positions to become an all-round player, describes herself in three words as a team player, and shouts mostly “pass” and “well done”. Lucy Bronze, who once visited her school and trained with her, is both the player she would most like to line up alongside and, with Alessia Russo and her old coach Kim Dixson, one of her heroes; meeting Mo Salah would be a dream come true. Her only superstition is a pair of mini shin pads, one carrying the Charlton badge and the other her Greek team AEK Athens. She has played for Arsenal’s academy and Millwall Lionesses under-12s in the JPL, and was a mascot at a Champions League semi-final in front of 60,000 at the Emirates.
