Born Kicking — Olivia Atkinson

She Kicks, issue SK12, February 2013 p.44

The young player questionnaire features Olivia Charlotte Atkinson, an 11-year-old who plays for Leicester City’s Centre of Excellence under-13s but supports Nottingham Forest. She loves midfield for the involvement and the goalscoring chances, and describes herself as agile, small, balanced, determined and improving. She would most like to meet Lionel Messi in the hope of learning a trick or two, and to play alongside Steph Houghton after admiring her at the Olympics. Her funniest football memory is being told to get goalside at a corner in her first ever match, for Wilford Lions under-10 boys, and running behind the goal instead. She names Hope Powell as her greatest hero and her sister Isabelle as a loyal supporter.
