Born Kicking: Katie Dunlop, Hannah-Marie and Annie

The magazine’s slot for its youngest readers hears from three of them. Katie Dunlop, ten and from Kilmarnock, plays on the wing for Dean Thistle Girls Under-11s, is moving to the boys’ side next season, and is so devoted to Erin Cuthbert that her team-mates call her KC: she describes herself as a dwarf but mighty, always ends up mucky, and names the Scotland-Jamaica friendly before the World Cup as the best game she has been to. From Dorset, eleven-year-olds Hannah-Marie and Annie both play for New Milton Town Ladies but support Arsenal and Southampton respectively. Between them they nominate Ellen White, Lucy Bronze, Alex Scott, Aubameyang, Messi, Iniesta and James Ward-Prowse, confess to a slip and a step-over gone wrong, and agree that the best thing about the team is the friendship.
