Born Kicking: Holly Manning
She Kicks, issue 43, September 2017 p.55
Holly Manning is ten, plays centre midfield for Stevenage Starlets, has spent two seasons on the Arsenal Player Development Programme, and was taken to Euro 2017 as a surprise by her parents. There she watched England finally beat France and was presented with Jordan Nobbs’s signed shirt from the Portugal game by Mary Earps, which she calls the best day ever. She would meet Steph Houghton for being inspirational and play alongside Nobbs for working hard, and would like a Manchester United shirt when they come to their senses and start a women’s team. Her funniest football memory is a corner she hit so badly it rolled to the halfway line. Her old club folded and the players stayed together because they look out for each other.
