Born Kicking: Franki Findlay

An instalment of Born Kicking, the magazine’s slot for younger readers compiled by Steve English, profiling 12-year-old Francesca Findlay from Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire, known on the pitch as Franki and Super Frank. She plays striker for Aberdeen FC Ladies Under-15s because she likes scoring and running with the ball, and describes herself as skilful, tactical, fast, competitive and committed. She would most like to meet Christy Grimshaw, who comes from her town and attended the same school, Mackie Academy, and would play alongside Phil Foden. Her funniest memory is scoring into both goals as a seven-year-old at Stonehaven Girls until the coach corrected her. She always puts her right boot on first, names Erin Cuthbert as a hero for her determination, and dreams of playing for Scotland.
