Born Kicking: Ella Williams

Ella Williams, 17, a former Fulham and Chelsea Centre of Excellence player, is now on an athletic scholarship with the Louisiana State University soccer team. Known to team-mates as Ella, Eeee-la, Smella or E-dubz, she describes herself as a defensive player who loves getting forward to start an attack, making centre defensive midfield her ideal position, though she has also enjoyed centre back. Mia Hamm has been her idol since she started playing at four, and she has already met David Beckham through the Jaguar Academy of Sport as a Rising Star in 2012, taking from him a dedication to improvement she hopes to replicate. She would play alongside Alex Morgan, or Eden Hazard among men, and describes herself as elegant, composed, a leader with a high football IQ.
