Born Kicking: Caragh Milligan
She Kicks, issue 9, July 2012 p.41
The young player questionnaire features Caragh Milligan, a 15-year-old winger with Glentoran Belfast United who in March became the youngest player capped at senior level in a competitive match for Northern Ireland, at 15 years and 121 days. Called Queenie at a boys’ club when younger and now sometimes ‘wee one’, she supports Liverpool, is right-footed and prefers either wing for the chance to get forward and take on defenders. She describes herself as quick, energetic, committed and hardworking, and remembers slicing her hand open with a bread knife an hour before playing Germany with the Northern Ireland under-19s in Sweden. She reads her bible before every competitive game, names her mother, Steven Gerrard and Abby Wambach as heroes, and her father as her biggest fan.
