Born Kicking: Amy Evans (goalkeeper special)

She Kicks, issue 35, May 2016 p.49

Thirteen-year-old Amy Evans from Willenhall, who keeps goal for AFC Phoenix and receives specialist coaching from Reactions Goalkeeper Coaching in the West Midlands, answers the Born Kicking questionnaire in a goalkeeper-themed edition. She chose the position because it is challenging and demands different types of save at any moment, and she likes the thrill of making one and helping the team win. She would like to meet Joe Hart, play alongside Rachel Unitt and names Karen Bardsley as her hero. She describes herself as loud, daring, confident and mental, recalls being buried under a celebrating pile-on and emerging caked in mud, and says a year of coaching has transformed her confidence.
