Born Kicking: Aimee Claypole
She Kicks, issue 36, July 2016 p.54
Ten-year-old Aimee Claypole, who played for Chelsea Ladies Under-11s in 2015-16 and has been offered a contract to stay at Under-12 level, answers the Born Kicking questionnaire. She supports Liverpool’s men, likes Real Madrid because of Ronaldo, and follows both Chelsea Ladies and Reading Women, having played in Reading’s girls’ academy before moving. She plays left wing so she can cut inside and shoot with her right foot. Her heroes are Gemma Davison, who coaches her from time to time, and Fran Kirby, one of her Reading coaches, which has earned her the nickname mini Fran. Her funniest football memory is being slide-tackled and nutmegged by John Terry at training.
