Bluebirds’ Soaring Season (Genero Adran Premier & FAW Women’s Cup)

Cardiff City finished an unbeaten Genero Adran Premier campaign with 54 points from a possible 60, sealed by a 3-1 win over Swansea City at Cardiff City Stadium in April. Katy Hosford curled Swansea ahead before Lily Billingham’s deflected shot levelled; Rhianne Oakley, a title winner with the Swans a year earlier, put Cardiff in front after an hour and substitute Zoe Atkins added a third. A week later Iain Derbyshire’s side completed the double in the FAW Women’s Cup final at Merthyr Town’s Penydarren Park, first-half goals from Eliza Collie and Catherine Walsh and an own goal building a 4-0 win that Oakley completed in the final minute. The club’s Under-19s and Under-16s were league champions too.
