Big Match/Dates Diary
She Kicks, issue 55, August 2019 p.5
The standing diary marks the turn from a World Cup summer into a domestic season, and it is unusually crowded. It opens with the Under-19 European Championship in Scotland from 16-28 July and the Champions League qualifying round in the first fortnight of August, with the round-of-32 draw on 16 August. The FA Women’s Championship and the FA Women’s National League both kick off on the weekend of 17-18 August, the WSL not until 7-8 September. Threaded through are the opening Euro 2021 qualifiers: the Faroe Islands against Wales and Northern Ireland against Norway at the end of August, then Wales against Northern Ireland in early September, alongside England friendlies in Leuven and Bergen and the first two qualifying rounds of the Women’s FA Cup.
