Becky Easton interview: Easton’s Epic Career

A four-page career retrospective with Liverpool’s Becky Easton, at 41 still going strong in a career spanning three decades. Having signed as a professional in 2012 with the men’s club she has supported all her life, she won WSL titles in 2013 and 2014, fifteen years after taking the league and cup double with Everton, and has appeared at a World Cup, a Euros and five FA Cup finals. A broken arm sustained in the Continental Cup fixture at Manchester City ended her season at its worst point, adding to a lengthening Liverpool injury list. Easton discusses staying healthy under sports scientist Kirsty, a seventh-place finish she feels flatters nobody, the youngsters coming through, and her switch from midfield to right back. She also covers Matt Beard’s departure to Boston, partner Tash Dowie’s punditry, sympathy for Laura Bassett, her Masters at MMU and her past life as a podiatrist.
