BBFA go Pro for FA Women’s Cup Final (County Spotlight: Berks & Bucks)
She Kicks, issue SK21, June 2014 p.27
The Around the Counties slot visits the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire FA, which has spent the year growing partnerships with local professional clubs Reading, Milton Keynes Dons and Wycombe Wanderers. With MK Dons hosting the FA Women’s Cup Final on 1 June, the county ran two initiatives in support: a competition for clubs and schools to design a poster to be displayed around the stadium, and a literacy competition whose winning article would appear in the match day programme. The county’s Women’s Cup and Trophy finals were held on 6 April with two WSL players invited and the FA Women’s Cup trophy on display, having earlier been taken to the Centre MK shopping centre for taster sessions. MK Dons will also host a first Football League Trust Female Football Development Festival aimed at girls aged 14 to 17.
