The pictures take in goalmouth scrambles, goalkeeping saves, celebrations and the branded matchday furniture of the rebranded Barclays-sponsored league, including the new plinth and pitchside dressing that arrived with the title sponsorship. Together with the fans gallery later in the issue, it is the visual record of a division playing in front of markedly bigger crowds than the season before, and of the WSL presenting itself as a fully professional product.
