Barcelona Poster
She Kicks, issue 73, May 2022 pp.32–33
A double-page poster of six Barcelona players celebrating a goal in front of the record Camp Nou crowd against Wolfsburg in the Champions League semi-final, the group running continuously across both pages with the club crest set into the far corner. The printed caption names them left to right: Caroline Graham Hansen, Alexia Putellas, Claudia Pina, Mariona Caldentey, Fridolina Rolfo and Asisat Oshoala, in the blue-and-magenta 2021-22 shirt. It is the visual counterpart to the news pages earlier in the issue, which record 91,553 at Camp Nou for the Real Madrid quarter-final in March and then 91,648 counted for this 5-1 win over Wolfsburg on 22 April – back-to-back world records for a professional women’s match. The caption’s own summary is hard to better: talent and joy in abundance.
