Back With A Vengeance (Norway EURO 2022 preview)
She Kicks, issue 74, July 2022 pp.34–35
Norway’s EURO 2022 preview, written around the return of Ada Hegerberg after a self-imposed five-year absence from the national team and twenty-one months out with an ACL injury – a comeback she capped by scoring in Lyon’s Champions League final win over Barcelona. With Caroline Graham Hansen alongside her and a midfield full of WSL players, the 1987 and 1993 champions look dangerous again after going out of EURO 2017 without a point or a goal. The goalkeeping department is the worry: Ingrid Hjelmseth has retired on 138 caps and Cecilie Fiskerstrand ruptured an ACL, leaving three keepers with two caps between them. Lucy Bronze, a former Lyon team-mate, supplies the best lines, remembering bouncing off Hegerberg at the 2015 World Cup and calling her the mentality monster.
