Arsenal Team Poster
She Kicks, issue 77, February 2023 p.8
A full-page team photograph of the Arsenal side lined up before a Champions League fixture, printed as a poster with the competition’s starball device and no caption of any kind. The players stand in the black change strip with the goalkeeper in yellow, a match pennant held at the centre, a floodlit stand behind. No player is named on the page. It arrives in a season in which Arsenal had set a WSL record of fourteen consecutive league wins and beaten the holders Lyon 5-1 in France, and in which the club drew the competition’s biggest crowds in England, so the poster records a squad at the height of its domestic and European standing.
