Around the Counties: London FA Onside With Doubling Participation
She Kicks, issue 41, May 2017 p.44
London FA sets out what it is doing to support the FA’s aim of doubling women’s and girls’ participation by 2020. It has joined the Amateur FA, Middlesex FA and the FA Coach Mentor Programme to launch the London Female Football Network, a series of events delivered by women for women covering opportunities and development routes across the game. Six SSE Wildcats clubs launched across six London boroughs for girls aged five to eleven, at two pounds a session with no commitment. Cross-county partnership competitions – the Capital Women’s and Girls’ Cups and the Capital Girls’ League – all recorded their highest entries to date, with Surrey FA joining the women’s cup, and the county has run female-only coaching courses including its first ever female-only FA Level 2.
