Around the Counties: Engaging the Next Generation in Norfolk

Norfolk County FA sets out a year of programmes to grow girls’ and women’s football. It opens with a primary school Euro 2017 competition in a small-sided format at two new 3G Football Development Centres, at the Open Academy and at Flegg. Two new mini soccer hubs for girls aged five to eleven will follow, operating on a turn up and play basis so that nobody has to make a long-term commitment. The Girls’ Small Sided competition runs for a fourth consecutive year for ages twelve to eighteen, with high schools entering teams that play three round robin fixture dates before qualifying for either a County Champions League or a Europa League finals day.
