An obituary for former England youth goalkeeper Amy Carr, who died in March aged 34. Her time with the Young Lionesses included selection for the 2008 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand, where the 17-year-old was a teammate of Lucy Bronze, Rachel Daly and Jordan Nobbs. She represented her country up to Under-19 level, having come through at Arsenal, Chelsea and Reading, then played college soccer in the United States for Northern Illinois University before joining IL Sandviken, now Brann, and winning promotion as a league champion in 2014. After a brain-tumour diagnosis at 23 she completed five marathons and raised more than 21,000 pounds for Brain Tumour Research.
