All Together Now (Manchester City’s new home)

Manchester City Women move into new facilities and a stadium beneath the shadow of the Etihad, and She Kicks speaks to head coach Nick Cushing and captain Steph Houghton at the official opening. Cushing calls it a no-excuse culture that ticks every box, notes that everyone at the club is now together from the men’s first team to the community section, and sets out plans for a girls’ Centre of Excellence training on the same pitches. Fresh from the Continental Cup, he wants to add trophies every season and is eyeing a pre-season tour of Abu Dhabi. Houghton describes the setup as every footballer’s dream and evidence of how seriously City take the women’s game, while recalling the environment the squad built at Platt Lane.
