A Big Year For… Champions League and Rio the Goals for Fast-Rising Bremer (Pauline Bremer interview)

Nineteen-year-old Germany striker Pauline Bremer, at Lyon since July, has taken the move in her stride with five goals in ten games despite competing with Ada Hegerberg, Lotta Schelin and Eugenie Le Sommer. She says training with players of that standard is demanding but fun, and credits school French with helping her settle quickly. A European Under-17 and world Under-20 champion who claimed the adidas Silver Boot at the Under-20 tournament, she calls the 2015 Women’s World Cup an important experience and very different from age-group football. Her targets are clear: the Champions League with Lyon, whose quarter-final is against Slavia Prague, and a place in Germany’s squad for the Rio Olympics.
