2025 Women’s Scottish Cup Final

She Kicks, issue 90, July 2025 p.89

Rangers won both domestic cups for the second season running, recovering from their last-day title disappointment with a 3-0 defeat of SWPL runners-up Glasgow City at Hampden Park on 25 May. Mia McAulay, Kathy Hill and City’s Nicole Kozlova had all struck the woodwork while the scores were level before Rangers went ahead after 25 minutes, the 18-year-old McAulay driving into the bottom corner from just outside the area at the end of a flowing move. Kirsty Howat took a firm grip on the final before half-time, bringing the ball down in the box, throwing off her marker and finishing low, then tucking away Chelsea Cornet’s cut-back early in the second half. Samantha van Diemen was sent off after a VAR review for fouling Camille Lafaix. Leanne Ross’s City end another season trophyless but qualify for Europe.
