Aoba Fujino has signed a contract extension with Man City Women, keeping her at the club until 2030.
The Japan international has become a key member of the team since moving to the Joie Stadium in the summer of 2024 from Tokyo Verdy Beleza.
She was also instrumental to City’s 2025-26 double-winning success – registering seven goals and three assists across the campaign, including in the Women’s FA Cup final win over Brighton.
Speaking about the extension, Aoba said: “I feel like there’s still so much I can develop here at this club, and that’s a big part of it [why I’ve extended].
“Two years in, I know I’m capable of more than I’ve shown. I’ve always felt so supported. Right from the start, when I first arrived at City, everyone welcomed me so warmly, the fans cheered me on, all of that just made City and Manchester, feel like home.”
Manchester City Women Director of Football, Therese Sjogran, added: “Everyone who has watched Aoba over the past two seasons knows how exciting a player she is, but also how high her potential is.
“This is why we’re thrilled that she has extended her stay and committed her future to City.
“Her quality on the pitch and attitude off it epitomises the team we aim to be, and we’re delighted to keep moving forward with her as a part of the squad.”
