Arsenal took a 3-1 lead in their UEFA Women’s Champions League Quarter-Final home leg against Chelsea.
Chelsea found themselves 2-0 down at half-time despite Alyssa Thompson and Lauren James both being denied by the far post early on and Veerle Buurman having a goal controversially disallowed.
Stina Blackstenius headed Arsenal in front from a Katie McCabe free-kick, and Chloe Kelly’s strike from over 25 yards out bat Hannah Hampton.
James’ superb effort from outside the box hit the top corner midway through the second half to get the Blues back in it, but 10 minutes later Blackstenius set up Alessia Russo to complete the scoring.
The second leg takes place at Stamford Bridge next Wednesday, 1 April.

Wolfsburg took a narrow lead over OL Lyonnais with an early goal, as the French side missed several good opportunities to find a reply.
Lineth Beerensteyn’s deflected shot beat Lyon goalkeeper Christiane Endler to give Wolfsburg the lead inside 15 minutes.
Kadidiatou Diani came close to scoring before the hour mark, as her shot bounced back off the post.
