
Portsmouth Women held Barclays WSL 2 leaders Charlton Athletic, while Crystal Palace stung second-placed Birmingham City with a 3-0 victory.

Portsmouth held league leaders Charlton Athletic to move up to tenth spot in the table. The Addicks’ Lucia Lobato scored from outside the box with just five minutes played. Pompey pulled level when Georgie Freeland whipped the ball into the net from a corner.
Crystal Palace beat second-placed Birmingham City to climb into the top half of the table. Palace scored a couple of minutes from the break, Molly-Mae Sharpe making the most of the through ball from Aimee Everett. They sealed a big three points with a quickfire brace in the final 20 minutes, Annabel Blanchard scoring from a free kick and Shanade Hopcroft netting from a tight angle after Kirsty Howat’s corner.
Bristol City put four past Sheffield United but finished with 10 players. Emily Syme struck for City from outside the box when found by Sophie Ingle. Lexi Lloyd-Smith doubled the lead from distance after the interval, Syme scored her second with a header from Maria Farrugia’s cross, roles were then exchanged for the Robins’ fourth goal before a late red card for Syme.
Nottingham Forest saw off Sunderland to move up to fourth place. Forest netted first through Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, with Chloe Mustaki providing the assist and scored a second just after the half-hour mark when Aimee Claypole finished from a pass by Nahikari García. Emily Scarr scored a breakaway goal to halve the deficit, but Boye-Hlorkah completed her brace from Rachel Rowe’s corner to seal the victory.
Bottom-of-the-table Ipswich Town earned just their fifth point in ten games with a draw at Durham. Shauna Guyatt put them in front on the hour mark helped by Sophie Peskett. But six minutes later the scores were levelled, Michaela Foster heading home from a Beth Hepple delivery.
