Wolves Women claimed a 2-0 win over Stoke City in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup 2nd Round.

Wolverhampton had a number of first-half shots wide of the mark, but did force a couple of saves from Stoke City goalkeeper Harriet Grimshaw.

Williams got through for Wolves after the restart but her shot narrowly cleared the crossbar.

Beth Merrick made the breakthrough for Wolves in the 74th minute with a swift break, firing the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box.

Stoke could not quite convert a cross at the far post, and Wolves sealed their progress with a late second goal, Racheal Quigley controlling and volleying home when a free kick fell her way.
