Man Utd Women lost their perfect record in the UWCL League Stage with a 5-2 defeat in Wolfsburg on match day four.
Melvine Malard’s cross was headed in by Fridolina Rolfö for an early Manchester United lead, only for Wolfsburg to quickly respond through Ella Peddemors, who scored after blocking goalkeeper Safia Middleton-Patel’s attempted clearance.
After the half-hour mark, Peddemors again scored from outside the box, her 25-yard effort curling home through a crowded penalty area.
Lineth Beerensteyn punished United for giving away possession with a 20-yard strike into the top corner, but moments later Malard chipped goalkeeper Stina Johannes to reduce the deficit to 3-2 at halftime.
Beerensteyn went close twice more, including forcing a save from Middleton-Patel, before doubling her tally with 25 minutes to go.
Vivien Endemann made it 5-2 in added time after intercepting a backpass.
In the other early kick-off, Juventus hit OL Lyonnes with two goals on the break from Chiara Beccari and Michela Cambiaghi, with Tatiana Pinto making it 3-0 before halftime.
Tabitha Chawinga replied and Marie-Antoinette Katoto scored the visitors’ second goal with 11 minutes of the 90 remaining.
The comeback was dramatically completed with a 90th-minute Wendie Renard penalty, sealing a 3-3 draw.
