Llandudno edged Connah’s Quay Nomads 6-5 on penalties in the Bute Energy U16 Cup, while Ponthir, Rhyl, Thornhill and Swansea City also went through despite going behind.

Llandudno fought back from 3-1 down to take Connah’s Quay to a shoot-out, with Madison Whalley scoring their equaliser. Llandudno eventually progressed on penalties in a sudden-death situation.

Rhyl overturned a 3-2 lead by Kinmel Bay, as Ruby McCavish struck twice in the last quarter of the match.

Evie Wigley featured for The New Saints, scoring half of their eight goals at NFA.

Ponthir had been trailing 2-1 to Gwalia United until Emilia Bell levelled from the spot and went on to complete a 30-minute hat-trick.

Thornhill also came from behind to beat Johnstown, with Isla Hughes turning the match in their favour with a quick brace and Phoebe Moss registering a total of three assists.

Another comeback happened at Carmarthen, who took the lead through substitute Ffion Miles. Swansea City later struck twice in 10 minutes as Kelsea Verallo-Vicholas equalised and Molly Silcox netted the winner.

Briton Ferry defeated Pontypridd 3-1 after taking a commanding three-goal lead, with Begw Gruffydd scoring twice, including a penalty kick.

Barry went two up at Taffs Well through Elena Tucker and Phoebe Howells, Nevaeh Bridgeman pulling one back by half time.
