
A full programme of Barclays WSL fixtures on Sunday 12 October brings London, Midlands and North West derbies.
Chelsea host Tottenham over whom the leaders have just a one-point advantage. The Blues’ will have Lucy Bronze and Niamh Charles back from injury, while Aggie Beever-Jones won the WSL player of the month award with a goal in all four games, Sonia Bompastor receiving the manager trophy. Spurs’ Molly Bartrip is in contention to play her first WSL fixture of the campaign.
Liverpool are without a point from four games and manager Gareth Taylor up against former club Manchester City, who are second with four straight wins and top scorers averaging three goals a game. The Reds will have a late check on the fitness of Leanne Kiernan.
Everton make their Hill Dickinson Stadium debut against Manchester United but injury problems continue with Megan Finnigan out until 2026 and Katja Snoeijs sustaining a hamstring injury during training. The Toffees will have Kelly Gago again though after a concussion, while Leah Galton could bLeah back for Marc Skinner’s team.
Fifth plays sixth as Arsenal entertain Brighton looking for a first league win in four. Albion lost 2-1 to West Ham in the League Cup in midweek but the Hammers have lost all five WSL games ahead of a short trip to London City.
Leicester City’s Rick Passmoor starts his position as permanent manager away to Aston Villa.
Charlton Athletic are unbeaten and three points clear in WSL 2 ahead of a visit from Sheffield United.
Next-to-bottom Ipswich play second-placed Birmingham, Nottingham Forest in third go to Durham, with Bristol City goal-difference behind and on the road to Newcastle.
Crystal Palace meet Sunderland in a mid-table clash, Portsmouth play Southampton at Fratton Park just four days after a 1-0 League Cup group stage defeat to the Saints.
