Barclays WSL Weekend Begins With Two Massive Clashes  in Manchester

Two huge clashes in the Barclays WSL see Manchester United host Chelsea on Friday and Manchester City take on Arsenal on Saturday.

Second plays first with Manchester United two points behind Chelsea who have won all four of their games. United expect to have Anna Sandberg back after illness, while Simi Awujo could make the squad for the first time this term.

Manchester City in third host an Arsenal side sitting a single point short of them, fourth-placed Spurs play Brighton, Leicester City meet Everton with both on three points and the Toffees having brought back Issy Hobson from her loan spell at Nottingham Forest and signed Man City goalkeeper Katie Startup on an emergency loan.

Liverpool head to London City looking to get off the mark, West Ham are also still chasing their first points and home to Aston Villa.

WSL 2 leaders Birmingham City entertain Southampton, Charlton are just goal-difference off the top but away to third-placed Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Basement side Sheffield United under interim manager Luke Turner take on Ipswich, Portsmouth sit between the Blades and Tractor Girls as they travel to Nottingham Forest.

Bristol City are home to Durham who are without a win since the opening day, Crystal Palace receive a visit from Newcastle who have lost their last two games while the Eagles are unbeaten in three.
