Stanway Pegasus Edge Seven Goal Thriller With 10 Pilkington Pick Up First Point

Regional League highlights included a thrilling seven-goal success for ten-player Stanway Pegasus and a first-ever point for Pilkington at this level.

EASTERN – Ten-Player Pegasus Win 4-3

Premier – Enfield Town host Watford Ladies Development on Wednesday 24 September.

1 North – Real Bedford Reserves went second with a 2-1 victory at Hitchin Belles, Newmarket Town also won 2-1 away at Biggleswade United with Millie Docking and Emilia Reinhardt their scorers. Newmarket play again on Wednesday, away to Cambridge City.

1 South – Stanway Pegasus picked up a first win in dramatic fashion, beating Brentwood Town in a seven-goal thriller as their Jessica Gill scored twice but was sent off. Jade Horne and substitute Imogen Fisher also netted in Stanway’s 4-3 result.

EAST MIDLANDS – Thrapston secure first points 3-0 away

Premier – Rotherham United meet Mansfield Town at Roundwood Sports & Social Club on Tuesday 23 September.

1 South – Thrapston got their first points in a 3-0 win at Leicester City Ladies, where Amelia Boddington bagged a brace and Hannah Hipwell also found the net. Brackley Town are up and running with a goalless draw at home to Northampton Town Development.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Seven Up For Hammersmith

1 North – Hammersmith have won all seven games to date, a 2-1 victory at Herne Bay putting them 10 points clear at the top. Second-placed Actonians Reserves were held 3-3 at home by Ashford United.

1 South – Saltdean United Development beat Bognor Regis Town 2-0 with a Miley Moore double for a third win in a row, matching the form of Eastbourne Borough whom they visit on Thursday 25 September. Ashmount Leigh are up to second after substitute Eleanor Killick-Bird struck twice in a 3-1 success at Bexhill United. Elsewhere, Frimley Green just missed out on a first point when going down 2-1 at home to Hastings United.

NORTH EAST – Gateshead Rutherford Gifted Top Spot

1 North – Gateshead Rutherford lead the table courtesy of a walkover against Wallsend BC Reserves.

NORTH WEST – Hard Fought First Point for Pilkington

1 Central – Pilkington registered their first-ever point at this level when sharing six goals with visitors Salford City. Luna Fenlon was at the double for the hosts and Karen Quinn scoring for them in added time, while a point was good enough to put the Lionesses top. MSB Woolton came from behind to beat Mossley Hill Athletic 2-1, Isabel Davies equalising and Katie Thomas with the winner on 75 minutes.

1 South – Macclesfield won 2-1 at Liverpool Feds Reserves, goals by Chloe Gravett and Tabitha Rushton producing a first win of the campaign.

SOUTHERN – Why the Tilehurst Matchwinnner

1 North – Leah Why got her second goal of the game for Tilehurst Panthers in stoppage-time for a 2-1 defeat of Oxford City Development, whose substitute Libby Burgess was red-carded. Chesham United Development put their first point on the board at the fourth attempt, Henrietta Cunnison off the bench to score in a 1-1 draw with Slough Town.

1 South – Bournemouth Sports Reserves lead the table after thrashing hosts Nursling & Shirley 8-0. In the first half there was a hat-trick for Matilda Pitcher, later matched by 59th-minute sub Charlotte Kerr.

Shield Services Group SOUTH WEST – 

1 North – Cirencester Town have won their opening two games after a 3-1 beating of Bath City, in which Codie Holgate, Annie Martin and Eve Timbrell got a goal each. Stockwood Wanderers edged Gloucester City Reserves 3-2, Maddison Stadden getting her second late on and Toni Blenkinsopp their other scorer. Whitchurch beat AFC Brislington with Hannah Gillett, Ilarna Nche and Emily Plummer all on the scoresheet.

1 South – Wells City’s first win came 4-1 over Appledore.

WEST MIDLANDS – Walsall at Bescot Stadium on Friday

1 North – Leek Town Reserves kicked off with a 4-2 win over visitors Whitchurch Alport. Walsall welcome Chasetown to the Bescot Stadium on Friday 26 September.

1 South – Worcester City Reserves’ 3-1 result at Hereford Pegasus kept them in pole position. Knowle are second after defeating Kingfisher 5-3, Trina Greaves at the double, sub Marian Byrne, Darcey Garner and Natalie Gibson all with singles.
