Birmingham City Women have signed Lucy Newell on a season-long loan from Man Utd Women, with whom she turned professional in October 2024.
Newell spent the start of 2025 on loan at Blackburn Rovers, where she made 10 appearances, scoring once against Durham in February.
She was part of the Young Lionesses side at the UEFA Women’s U-19 Euros, helping them qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Newell told bcfc.com: “I’m really excited to be here. It’s a massive club with huge ambition and I’m looking forward to bringing my skills to the team.
“WSL2 is a challenging league where the competition is really high. I think playing at Blackburn has taught me how competitive it can be, and I can’t wait to play for Blues and fight for that promotion.”
