Leicester City Women have signed Republic of Ireland international full-back Heather Payne from Everton on a two-year contract.
She spent the past two seasons playing regularly for Everton and is also an established defender with the Republic of Ireland, for whom she has over 50 caps.
Payne told lcfc.com: “I’m Irish so I’ll bring a distinctive kind of passion to the game. I’ve always been really hard working and keen to get forward as a defender. I want to provide more goals and assists for the team this season.
“This is a club that is on the up. For me personally, it’s a place where I can develop, and I’ve heard really good things about the team itself and the staff. They were keen to have me here, which is always a really good bonus.”
