London City Lionesses have signed Spanish international defender Jana Fernández from Barcelona.

She became Barcelona’s second-youngest debutant in its professional era at 16 years 9 months, signing her first professional contract in the summer of 2020.

Offering great passing range, she also has the ability to play at both centre-back and full-back.

With Barca, her honours featured five Primera División titles and three UEFA Women’s Champions League successes.

She played for Spain at Women’s EURO 2025, earlier winning both the U-17 World Cup and U-17 EURO.

Fernández told londoncitylionesses.com: “London City have made really good signings. I’m excited to get to know the coach, learn how we want to play and I’m so excited to be in the WSL!

“I’m excited to get back on the pitch with María, she was my former teammate, and Elene Lete from the Spanish national team as well!
