Nottingham Forest have signed England youth international forward Aimee Claypole on a two-year deal from Chelsea.

She has represented England up to U-19 level to date and gained Champions League experience on loan to Swedish side Linkoping a year ago.

The second half of last season she was loaned to Durham, with whom she earned a nomination for Championship Player of the Season.

Claypole told nottinghamforest.co.uk: “I’m really excited, the club has unbelievable ambition and I’m looking forward to being part of the project that we’re building here. I can’t wait to get started.”

Head coach, Carly Davies said: “We are so pleased Aimee has joined us. Securing her signing is another statement of intent for the impact we’re looking to have in the WSL2.

“Aimee is an exciting player, someone who has an eye for goal and we are confident she will add something different to the team. She has fantastic experience for a player of her age, and we’re looking forward to welcoming her to our group and seeing the impact she has on the team.”
