Bristol City have signed experienced forward Rio Hardy from Rangers on a two-year deal and for an undisclosed fee.

Hardy played in the Champions League and won the Scottish Cup last season with Rangers, where she was prolific in front of goal.

She also has WSL2 experience, making 30 appearances in the second tier with Durham in 2023.

Her other previous clubs are Blackburn Rovers, Grindavík, Coventry United and Apollon, with whom she scored 48 goals in just 40 games.

Head coach Charlotte Healy told bcfc.co.uk: “We are really pleased to secure Rio’s signature. She is a very exciting signing with a track record of scoring goals. Rio’s ability to score all types of goals will give us real firepower this season and we’re excited to welcome her to Bristol city.”

Hardy commented: “I’d heard lots of good things about the club and had a few conversations with Charlotte [Healy], and she really sold me on the way she wants to play.”
