Sunderland have signed Republic of Ireland international Jamie Finn on a one-year deal, after the expiration of her contract at Birmingham City.

The versatile midfielder has 16 senior caps for her country and played over 50 times for the Blues before suffering an ACL injury, from which she returned in February this year.

Finn told safc.co.uk: “I had great conversations with Mel [Reay] and Steph [Libbey] about where the team want to go. It’s such a historic club so I’m really happy to have signed and I’m excited to get going.”

Head coach Mel Reay added: “We are delighted to welcome Jamie to Sunderland. She is a player who matches our ambitions for what we want to achieve, and we believe that her versatility and quality will be a real asset to the squad for the upcoming season.”
