Jenny Sugarman has been appointed as the new Wrexham AFC Women & Girls’ Head Coach.

Sugarman brings a wealth of management and coaching experience after more than 25 years of work in coaching, leadership and education.

She most recently served as Head of Academy with Barclays WSL side Leicester City, was head coach at West Bromwich Albion and assistant manager at Aston Villa, among a number of jobs in the women’s game.

On joining Wrexham AFC, Sugarman said: “I’m incredibly proud to be joining this historic club. I feel like our values and ambitions are really aligned. I can’t wait to get started and contribute to what we’re building both on and off the pitch.”

Wrexham AFC CEO Michael Williamson said: “We are pleased to be welcoming a coach with such a comprehensive and impressive CV as Jenny’s to the Football Club.

“There were a number of very high calibre candidates interested in the role, but Jenny’s experience across all levels of the women’s game stood out for us, as we look to write the next chapter for the women’s team.”
