Aston Villa have brought former Manchester City goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck to the Barclays WSL after one season with Barcelona.

The goalkeeper had very limited game time with Barcelona, whom she joined after making nearly 100 appearances for Manchester City.

An England international and Team GB representative at the Olympics, Roebuck has signed a two-year deal with Villa.

Director of Women’s Football, Marisa Ewers told avfc.co.uk: “We are delighted that Ellie will be joining our club.

“She is an exciting addition to the team and is a player with a lot of experience who can help drive our performance levels.”
