
France and Spain fought back for wins over Brazil and Japan respectively in warm-up matches for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, which kicks off on Wednesday.
France overcame an early two-goal deficit to see off Brazil 3-2. Luany and Kerolin had Brazil two goals to the good in only a dozen minutes but Grace Geyoro hit back late in the first half. Geyoro got her second before the hour mark and Marie-Antoinette Katoto netted a 75th-minute winner.
Spain came back from a goal down to defeat Japan 3-1. Mina Tanaka’s opener brought a leveller close to the break by Claudia Pina. Vicky Lopez gave Spain the lead midway through the second half and with a couple of minutes to go, Athenea del Castillo made sure of victory with the third.
Poland scored twice in stoppage-time against Ukraine to post a 4-0 result. Klaudia Jedlinska and Paulina Tomasiak had them two up, Kayla Adamek and Milena Kokosz with the late goals.
Iceland were 2-0 ahead in Serbia after only 5 minutes, Sandra Maria Jessen and Karolina Lea Viljhamsdottir with the goals. Sveindis Jane Jonsdottir added a third, before a reply from Miljana Ivanovic.
Canada struck four times in the latter stages in coming from behind to beat Costa Rica 4-1. A first-half goal by Maria Paula Salas was cancelled out on 70 minutes by Shelina Zadorsky, before a goal each from Holly Ward, Zara Chavoshi and Emma Regan sealed victory.
Elsewhere, Mexico and Colombia played out a goalless draw.
