Rachel Daly, who announced her retirement from international football earlier this year, made the Kings’ Birthday Honours List for her services to football.

She made 84 appearances for England, scoring 16 goals and also represented Team GB at the Olympics on four occasions.

Her international honours featured helping her country to become EURO 2022 winners and runners-up at the 2023 World Cup.

Domestic honours in a very fruitful 2022-23 included PFA Women’s Players’ Player of the Year, PFA Team of the Year, WSL Player of the Season and WSL Golden Boot.

Daly currently sits on an impressive 38 goals in 64 games for Aston Villa.

British Empire Medals were awarded to Kathryn Burgess (founder of the Cheshire Girls Football League) and Valerie Hoyle (secretary of Rotherham United WFC).
