Kidderminster Harriers secured promotion to the FA Women’s National League when winning the West Midlands Premier Division title.

They had only needed a point from their final match at home to relegated Knowle to take top spot from Lye Town, winning the game rearranged from Sunday to Thursday by three goals to nil.

A chance to settle any nerves was missed, as Amber Lawrence’s 13th-minute penalty was saved, the same player later denied by the crossbar.

But the breakthrough came just before half time, as Ellie McGovern struck from outside the box.

The lead was doubled midway through the second half, Mia Badland – who had only been on the pitch five minutes – with a tap in following a Sophie Levick free kick.

The scoring was completed at 3-0 as Izzie Whittick’s driving run led to a second goal of the night for Badland.
