Melvine Malard won possession to set up Simi Awujo who fired United in front, before Bayern’s second-half comeback.
Momoko Tanikawa equalised and Sarah Zadrazil turned in the box to shoot home the decider.
United had earlier defeated Manchester City 2-0 in the semi-finals, Malard’s impressive early opener added to in the latter stages by Gabby George.

City also lost out in the third-place match, despite Jess Park putting them one up against Paris Saint-Germain.
Manssita Traoré levelled with her first touch, Grace Geyoro gave PSG the lead and Oceáne Hurtre buried a free kick in a 3-1 victory.
