UEFA Women’s Nations League promotion for Poland and Ukraine

Germany are through to the UEFA Women’s Nations League finals, while Poland and Ukraine both secured promotion to League A.

Group A1 – Germany 4-0 Netherlands, Scotland 0-1 Austria

Germany defeated the Dutch to win the group, Lea Schuller scoring twice as all the goals came by the 48th minute. Scotland are relegated after defeat by a Julia Hickelsberger goal for Austria.

Group A2 – Norway 1-1 Iceland, France 4-0 Switzerland

France were already into the four-team finals ahead of sending the Swiss to a 4-0 reverse. They were three up in under 20 minutes through Clara Mateo, Elisa de Almeida and Sandy Baltimore, Grace Geyoro later completing the scoring. Iceland led for much of the match in Norway through Sveindis Jonsdottir, until a Glodis Viggosdottir own-goal on 83 minutes.

Group A3 – Belgium 1-5 Spain, England 6-0 Portugal

Spain only need a draw at home to England to clinch top spot after their 5-1 victory in Belgium, where Esther Gonzalez and Athenea each bagged a brace. Aggie Beever-Jones scored three times as the Lionesses overran Portugal.

Group A4 – Italy 0-0 Sweden, Denmark 1-0 Wales

Sweden and Denmark go into the last matchday level on points and two ahead of Italy. Wales are relegated after the Danes beat them with a Pernille Harder goal.

Group B1 – Romania 2-0 Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland 0-4 Poland

Poland’s Ewa Pajor set up their group-winning result in Northern Ireland with a double in the first ten minutes. Romania beat Bosnia and Herzegovina to pull level on points with them in the bottom half of the group.

Group B2 – Slovenia 2-0 Greece, Türkiye 1-2 Republic of Ireland

Slovenia made it five wins from five with victory over Greece but they face a decider away to Ireland, who fought back late on to win in Turkiye with an own-goal and Emily Murphy effort.

Group B3 – Serbia 1-0 Hungary, Belarus 0-3 Finland

Serbia maintained a three-point lead over Finland at the top, edging Hungary with a stoppage-time Allegra Poljak goal, despite having Jovana Damnjanovic dismissed just after the hour mark. The Finns scored three in Belarus, Linda Sallstrom twice adding to the early goal from Sanni Franssi.

Group B4 – Czechia 5-0 Croatia, Ukraine 2-1 Albania

Ukraine took top spot when coming from behind to see off Albania, Olha Basanska and Olha Ovdiychuk their scorers. Kateřina Svitková made one goal and scored another in the first 20 minutes, as Czechia put five past Croatia and sealed a promotion play-off match.

Group C1 – Slovakia 11-0 Gibraltar, Moldova 1-1 Faroe Islands

Nikola Rybanská notched a hat-trick as Slovakia ran riot against Gibraltar, in clinching promotion to League B. Faroe Islands finish runners-up after a draw in Moldova.

Group C2 – Andorra 1-2 Georgia, Malta 1-0 Cyprus

Malta’s 1-0 win over Cyprus was thnaks to a Haley Bugeja goal and earned them promotion to League B. Georgia got off the bottom at the expense of hosts Andorra, even though a red card left them a player short for much of the second half.

Group C3 – Kazakhstan 4-0 Liechtenstein, Luxembourg 2-0 Armenia

Kazakhstan sent Liechtenstein to a fifth straight defeat in the group, Luxembourg still lead the table by three points following victory over Armenia.

Group C4 – Azerbaijan 0-5 Lithuania

Lithuania got off the mark with a big win away to a previously unbeaten Azerbaijan, setting up a group decider against Montenegro on Tuesday.

Group C5 – Estonia 0-3 Israel

Group winners Israel ended unbeaten with a 3-0 win in Estonia, sealed with two goal in the last 15 minutes or so.

Group C6 – Latvia 1-1 North Macedonia

Latvia went top of the table by one point from Kosovo, whom they face next week, despite being held at home by North Macedonia who avoided defeat of the first time.
