Bristol City Women have confirmed that Steve Kirby has left his post as head coach with immediate effect.
Kirby joined the Robins in September on a two-year contract, as the club looked to bounce straight back after relegation from the top tier.
But a disappointing second half of the campaign saw the team finish sixth in the Barclays Women’s Championship, 13 points beheld the champions, London City Lionesses.
Bristol City Women Chair Gavin Marshall told bcfc.co.uk: “We would like to thank Steve for his hard work and professionalism over the past seven months and wish him all the very best in his future career.
“Our priority is to now find the best candidate to push us forward for next season in WSL2.”
