Birmingham City Women held Arsenal to a draw in the Barclays WSL watched by 19,426 at Emirates Stadium.
Kyra Cooney-Cross saw her 25-yard effort steered around the post by City goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley.
Leah Williamson sent over a cross that Alessia Russo met with a diving header, which crashed back off the post before being hacked to safety.
Arsenal were dominant in a goalless first half, but Birmingham proved dangerous on the break without troubling keeper Lisa Rodriguez.
Eight minutes after the restart, Oceane Hurtré was sent clear on the break by Neve Herron’s perfectly-weighted pass to finish calmly into the corner of the Gunners’ net.
Lisa Baum’s header was blocked on the line by Baggaley’s legs, but moments later Olivia Smith struck the 66th-minute equaliser from outside the box.
Lotte Wubben-Moy was denied by Baggaley and despite ongoing pressure on the visitors’ goal, Arsenal were unable to force a winner.
The 1-1 result was the third draw in six for both teams, with Arsenal and Birmingham climbing to eighth and 11th respectively on goal difference.
