
Ella Toone has been added to the England Women’s squad for the upcoming World Cup first-round play-off matches against Greece.
Lucy Bronze will return to Chelsea to manage a minor injury sustained in league action last weekend.
The squad arrived in Crete yesterday evening ahead of Friday’s first leg against Greece at the Pankritio Stadium in Heraklion. The Lionesses will then return to England for the second leg at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium on Tuesday 13 October.
Earlier in the week, there was also an update to the England WU23s squad, with Sienna-Rose Wareing called up after Sarah Brasero withdrew due to injury.
Lydia Bedford’s side begin their defence of the U23 European competition on Monday 12 October (19:30) when they welcome Norway to the LNER Community Stadium in York, with tickets still on sale.
